I am a Belgian-born artist who migrated to New Zealand in 1995. My work is
a colourful combination of figurative and abstract elements.
I am inspired by the light and hues of the New Zealand scenery to
use strong and vivacious colours.
I use acrylics, inks and oils combined with
collage, organic and other materials.
My paintings are visual books. Each layer represents a chapter of emotions and thoughts.
Over time, throughout the gradual changes in my style, my work remains
a joyful world of colour and light.
I am influenced by the European traditions of
Klimt, Modigliani and Gauguin.
My work is exhibited at home, in my art studio and on my web site.
I have also exhibited my work at:
· The New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts (Wellington)
· Odlin gallery (Lower Hutt)
· Pataka Gallery (Porirua)
· Plimmerton Café
· Affordable Art Show (Wellington)
· Expressions (Upper Hutt) |
